Before proceeding to registration, please take note of the following important points:
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
IMPORTANT - Electrical Safety Rules for ROBOCUP JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010.
Registrants must meet all OH&S requirements. Failure to comply with the satisfaction of The University of Queensland policies will result in automatic withdrawal from the competition.
University Electrical Safety Regulations require that regular inspection and testing of specified electrical equipment has been carried out. Earthed equipment needs to have been tested and tagged in the last 6 months. Double insulated items needs to have been tested and tagged in the last 12 months. Please ensure all your equipment is tagged accordingly. Untagged electrical items will not be allowed to be used. If you are using equipment from your school, perhaps it is correctly tagged. Please check.
It is each team’s responsibility to visually inspect any equipment prior to use, ensure that it is fit for the intended purpose and that cords and leads are run in such a way as to be protected from harm and not present a risk to others.
Double adapters, piggy back plugs, unswitched powerboards and the daisy chaining of powerboards is strictly prohibited in any University operation.
All powerboards must be individually switched (4 sockets, 4 switches) and equipped with an overload protection.
The University ensures that all power leads and outlets that we supply for the event have been tested and tagged and meet electrical safety standards.
Please also ensure that all equipment is marked with the school’s name.
Warm Up Area
It is important to note that while teachers, parents and other supporters of RoboCup Junior participants may assist in carrying equipment to the warm up area upon arrival at the Championships, they must leave the warm up area immediately after the drop off. Security will be present to monitor this.
Footwear
Please note that all people entering the UQ Centre on the weekend of the Championships must be wearing closed shoes.
Media release forms
For 2009 there will be no media release forms but signs will be prominent in the competition area that in entering this area you could be photographed/filmed.
