RoboCup Junior Australia gives students a practical, creative and accessible pathway into robotics, coding, engineering, design and teamwork.
Through local, regional, state and national events, students design, build and program autonomous robots to complete real-world inspired challenges. Along the way, they develop technical skills, confidence, creativity, resilience and the ability to work as part of a team.
As a sponsor, your organisation helps keep robotics education accessible for students across Australia. Your support helps reduce barriers for schools, strengthen event delivery and connect young people with the skills and confidence they need for Australia’s digital future.

Schools don’t need the latest robot, or a new kit every year. With accessibility in mind, schools can run their own RoboCup setup with what they have in the classroom, attending local, regional, state events, or host their own events in their local area.
Students are encouraged to test, fail, improve and try again. They learn that engineering is not just about the final robot. It is about iteration, communication, documentation, problem solving and teamwork.
A primary student might begin with a simple classroom robot and by graduation, progress to custom-built robot with sensors, electronics, mechanical design, computer vision and advanced programming.
This open and flexible approach means students can participate using the tools available to them, while still being challenged to grow.
RoboCup Junior Australia brings together students, teachers, parents, volunteers, mentors and robotics educators from across the country.
Partnering with RoboCup Junior Australia gives your organisation the opportunity to:
RoboCup Junior Australia supports educators around the country to inspire and excite the next generation through robotics and coding. With demand for STEM-skilled workers continuing to grow, programs like RoboCup Junior play an important role in helping students build interest, confidence and capability in these areas.
By partnering with RoboCup Junior Australia, your organisation is positioned alongside one of Australia’s most accessible and trusted robotics education programs.
RoboCup Junior is part of an international robotics education initiative, with students participating across more than 50 countries, with 50,000+ students worldwide – and it all started in Australia. RoboCup Junior has supported students since 1999 and continues to connect thousands of students, teachers, schools and volunteers through robotics events and learning opportunities.
Our national community includes:
RoboCup Junior Australia is more than a competition. It is a national STEM learning pathway that helps students develop technical skills, social skills, project skills and confidence.
Students learn to collaborate, troubleshoot, share ideas, communicate their designs and support one another. The competition encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, organisation, creativity and respect for differences between individuals, schools, regions and nations.
RoboCup Junior Australia is designed to be accessible, flexible and meaningful for students and educators.
Unlike many robotics competitions, RoboCup Junior has always been platform agnostic. Students can use a wide range of hardware and software platforms, provided the robot is not designed to complete the challenge “off the shelf”. This gives schools and teams the flexibility to work with the tools, budgets and technologies available to them.
Uniquely, RoboCup Junior also has no qualification requirement for national events, helping more students experience high-quality robotics competition without needing to pass through restrictive and expensive selection pathways.
This makes RoboCup Junior one of the most accessible robotics competitions in Australia.
Key strengths include:
RoboCup Junior makes it easier for students of all ages to connect with robotics, find their passion and see themselves in a future STEM career. Each challenge includes structured divisions of increasing complexity. This allows students to progress naturally as their confidence, skills and experience grow.
The range of challenges means students can connect with robotics through engineering, programming, rescue applications, sport, performance, creativity, storytelling and design.
RoboCup Junior Australia maintains its accessibility through two key supports: volunteers and sponsors.
Sponsorship is critical to ensuring we can continue running RoboCup Junior at a low entry cost while expanding our support for more Australian schools, educators and students.
Your support, either in kind or financial can help:
Sponsorship helps keep participation affordable, improves event quality and strengthens the long-term sustainability of RoboCup Junior Australia.
Australia needs young people who are confident with technology, comfortable solving complex problems and excited to contribute to the future.
RoboCup Junior Australia gives students a place to start.
With your support, we can reach more students, support more teachers, strengthen more regional events and continue building a national robotics community that is open, accessible and ambitious.
Thank you for supporting Australia’s digital future.
