With the release of the 2025 Rescue Maze Rules, the Open Maze victim design for Unharmed and Harmed victims has been updated. To closer align with the International Maze rules we are removing the heating component from the victims and increasing the use of letters.
NOTE: Removing the need for heated victims also saves on the cost of the heating pads, cables and power supplies and the hassle of providing power and cabling to the course.
The 3D printed victim hanger designs (files below) remain the same as released in 2023, both for the Flat Pack Tiles Maze Course which uses 3mm walls, and for the older style plywood 9mm maze walls. The victim hanger has been designed for 200mm high walls.
The Unharmed victims can be assembled with blue colour tape (e.g. 3M painter’s blue masking tape available from Bunnings) and printed letter “U” in Arial 160 point from the Rescue Maze Wall (Letter) Victims document (in any orientation). If your tape is the narrower version, you might need two pieces to create an approximately 50mm x 50mm square.

The Harmed victims can be assembled with Aluminium Foil tape (e.g. Air Conditioning duct or insulation tape available from Bunnings) and printed letter “H” in Arial 160 point from the Rescue Maze Wall (Letter) Victims document (in any orientation).

The design files for the 3D Printed 9mm wall victim hanger (and 9mm wall joiners) are provided below:

Please expect this design to be used in competitions.
